Amber River Camp is situated on the Sandididebe channel, bordering Moremi Game Reserve, south of Chitabe in a game-rich area of the Okavango Delta. This combined with an incredibly diverse habitat, which includes mopane woodland, acacia trees, savannah, floodplains, permanent channels and tiny islands, makes for spectacular and special game viewing. Sightings of big cats and the occasional sightings of rare species like wild dogs and rhino, add to the magical safari experience of the camps. For avid birdwatchers, a number of rare species occur, including the endangered ground hornbill The vegetation and ecosystems of the area are incredibly varied – from open savannah dotted with acacia trees and grassy floodplains to permanent water channels and small islands to explore by mokoro. The camp is set upon an island with year-round water activities and designed in such a way so that guests have a choice of sunrise to wake up to or a wonderful sunset to end the day with from their luxury tents. Amber River Camp has 6 luxury tents with three on each side of the island linked by a treelined walkway and is a more traditionally styled camp with the tents on raised decks along with outside bathtub and shower. The Camp enjoys the same productive game-rich area over which it traverses. Guests will be met in Maun and transferred by helicopter (30 Minutes) or land transfer 2.5 hours. Guests cannot self-drive to camp
