The kitchen, lounge, dining and bar areas are situated in the central living pod, while the four bedrooms are situated in separate sleeping pods. Guests walk outside between the central living area and bedroom pods. BEDROOMS Three bedrooms have a Cloud Nine king-size bed. The fourth bedroom has two single beds that can be converted into a king-size bed on request. Each bedroom has an open loft containing two single beds for children. All four bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, mosquito nets over the main beds and en-suite bathrooms with a shower, toilet and basin. Fans are provided in the loft sleeping areas. Bed linen and bath towels are supplied. Guests must bring their own beach towels. BEACH ACCESS Baleia Azul 11 is situated in the first row of houses from the beach and has its own private walking pathway to Frederico’s Beach. Approximately five wooden steps lead from the house onto the sand, followed by a short walk through coastal vegetation directly onto the beach. The walk from the lounge to the sea takes approximately 3 minutes. Frederico’s well-known snorkelling spot is just a few metres along the beach from where the pathway reaches the sand. 4X4 ACCESS A 4x4 vehicle is compulsory for access to Baleia Azul Estate. Parking is available for up to four vehicles. BOAT LAUNCHING Guests bringing a boat can make use of the Baleia Azul Estate tractor for launching and retrieving their boat. The tractor is operated by a designated driver and may not be operated by guests. Please enquire about the applicable tractor fee when arranging boat launching and retrieval. SWIMMING POOL & JACUZZI Baleia Azul 11 has a private swimming pool and heated jacuzzi. The swimming pool does not have a safety net or fence. Use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and associated facilities is strictly at guests’ own risk. Children must be supervised at all times. STARLINK WI-FI & DSTV Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi is provided. A TV with DStv is available. The DStv decoder, card and subscription are supplied, so guests do not need to bring their own. BRAAI, BOMA & PIZZA OVEN The sheltered boma area has a built-in wood or charcoal braai, Weber braai, pizza oven and fire pit. A No. 3 three-legged potjie pot is also provided. DRINKING WATER & SEPTIC SYSTEM The property uses borehole water with a filtration system. Guests are nevertheless advised to bring their own drinking water. The house operates on a septic tank system. Only single-ply toilet paper may be flushed down the toilets. No other items may be flushed. HOUSEKEEPING & COMPULSORY STAFF TIPS The house has a full-time housekeeper, Xtany, and gardener, Absa. Xtany is responsible for general cleaning, making beds and washing dishes. Absa looks after the braai area, garden and general property maintenance. The compulsory daily staff tips are: Housekeeper: R80 per day Gardener: R80 per day For bookings of more than 9 guests, an additional housekeeper is required at R100 per day. Staff tips apply to the days of arrival and departure and must be paid directly to the staff in cash on departure. STAFF WORKING HOURS Weekdays: 08:00–16:00 Weekends and Public Holidays: 08:00–14:00 On Christmas Day, staff will attend for a maximum of two hours from 08:00–10:00 if absolutely necessary. The housekeeper will wash dishes from the previous evening in the morning and will attend to breakfast dishes after making the beds. Any additional assistance outside normal duties or working hours should be arranged directly with the staff. GUEST LAUNDRY Only Xtany may operate the washing machine. Guest laundry can be arranged with Xtany at a charge of R120 per load. Guests should bring their own washing powder. Where late check-out is approved, a fee of R1,500 will be deducted from the refundable breakage deposit. Late check-out is no later than 15:00. HOUSE & ESTATE RULES No pets are permitted. Loud music, parties and functions are not permitted. All guests must comply with Baleia Azul Estate rules. No noise is permitted between 22:00 and 06:00. Failure to comply will result in a warning. If the issue occurs again after a warning, the full breakage deposit will be forfeited.
